Great Lakes was started by Kenneth Byler in 2014. At the age of 18 while working for another commercial roofing company, he saw the opportunity to make building owners happy again by providing fast reliable roof solutions. With this in mind, he started building the company from nothing, one happy customer at a time. Now, Great Lakes has an entire team of people with this mindset, making building owners smile with service that nobody else can match.
In 2022 Great Lakes added a second location in Iowa to better serve our Midwest customers. Our goal is not to grow fast but to grow steadily so we can continue to serve our existing customers with the same high level of customer care, even during expansion. In time, we will have locations in Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois and Ohio to enable us to serve the entire Great Lakes Region. Stay tuned for exciting announcements as we grow!

Even at a young age he had the desire to build something great and enable people to become the best version of themselves. With that focus in mind, he has built a team of great people who are responsible for the growth Great Lakes has seen over the past 10 years. He believes we are only gettiong started and the best is yet to come! When he is not working on the company he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children on a small ranch in rural Iowa.
